NAFSA is a great opportunity to reinforce current partnerships and create new ones. Two of MICEFA’s newest team members, Student Affairs Coordinator Leslie Greenhow and Treasurer Claire Sotinel, will be attending this May and are looking forward to meeting you in Boston!
On December 9th, 2014 during our annual General Assembly, the member universities elected a new board. After 12 years of dedicated service, President Anne Deysine and Treasurer Jean-Jacques Bourdin were replaced by President Jacques Pothier and Treasurer Claire Sotinel.
Jacques Pothier is full professor of American Literature and Civilization at Université de Versailles Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ) and Vice President of “Institut des Ameriques” (IdA). He served as General Secretary of MICEFA before taking the position of President.
Treasurer Claire Sotinel is a full professor of History and Vice President of International Relations at Université de Paris Est-Créteil Val de Marne (UPEC).
Our new General Secretary is Marie-Christine Pauwels, associate professor of American Civilization at Université de Paris Ouest-Nanterre (UPOND, formerly Paris 10).
MICEFA greatly thanks the outgoing leadership for everything that they accomplished. We look forward to continuing their work with the new board.
Each semester, MICEFA offers a range of transferable courses that complement the student’s academic and cultural experience. These classes are unique because they are taught on-location (on the streets of Paris, in museums and other relevant sites) and completely in French by French university professors. Our professors use an international approach which allows the student to better adapt to their classes at the host university. These classes accomodate students with various levels of French.
At the request of our partners, we are excited to announce that we are adding new courses in Business and French Language and Culture. To see our entire course catalog for the 2015/2016 academic year, please click here.
We are proud of our partnership with Université Paris-Est Créteil. Located just south of Paris, this campus of 30,000 attracts many MICEFA students for its programs in business and French Language and Culture. Discover Université Paris-Est Créteil!
MICEFA students enjoyed a day away from Paris exploring the Châteaux de la Loire. The Loire Valley is about two hours south of the capital and home to dozens of ancient royal castles. We toured two specifically – Chambord and Blois. Chambord is the largest of all the castles in the valley and was constructed by King Francois I, while Blois was the residence of several French kings. It’s also where Joan of Arc was blessed in 1429 by the Archbishop of Reims before departing with her army to drive the English from Orléans.
