North American Students
MICEFA serves as a catalyst for enhancing North American/French academic cooperation. Unlike traditional “island” study abroad programs, MICEFA provides students access to a genuine experience in a French university with French and European students.
- MICEFA provides North American visiting students with a three- to four-week orientation and intensive language program, designed to assist with academic preparation and cultural adaptation.
- With the advisement of MICEFA’s academic director, each student selects an individualized study program. Depending on the students’ proficiency in French and degree requirements, they may attend any of the fourteen member universities.
- In addition to the courses that North American students can take in one of fourteen ‘Ile de France’ universities, MICEFA offers 5 to 6 courses per semester in French taught by Parisian university faculty.
- MICEFA’s staff provides many services to the visiting students such as: assistance in securing short- and long-term housing, helping students obtain the titre de séjour, academic advising, French tutoring, providing transcripts of academic work, organization of social events, visits and short trips to places of interest.
