About the University…
The University of Paris – Sorbonne Nouvelle was founded in 1971 as one of the 13 universities created after the division of the old Sorbonne. This University is the former Faculty of Arts at the University of Paris.
It hosts 18,600 students, 3,860 of whom are foreign students (21%). Nearly 500 professors and associate professors teach at Sorbonne Nouvelle. The vitality of the university in the field of research is clearly evident by its 40 research teams accredited by the Ministry of Education.

The University of Paris - Sorbonne Nouvelle offers a variety of courses that lead to more than 120 degrees, mainly in humanities, literature, modern languages, French foreign language and second language, Cinéma and theater, communication and media.
A good level of French is required for MICEFA students who wish to take classes with francophone students. Students enrolled in the literature department should know how to write essays or text comment according to the French methodology system. This exercice requires knowledge in the history of literature, literary streams, genres, etc.
The University of Paris - Sorbonne Nouvelle offers French classes, FLES (Français Langue Etrangère et Seconde) which enables students to specialize in the French language and civilization. The access to these classes is very restricted.
