University of Paris III - La Sorbonne Nouvelle |
Sorbonne Nouvelle was founded in 1971 as one of the 13 universities created after the division of the old Sorbonne.
It hosts 18,600 students, 3,860 whom are foreign students (21%). Nearly 500 professors and associate professors teach at Paris 3. The vitality of the university in the field of research is clearly evident by its 40 research teams accredited by the Ministry of Education. Paris 3 offers a wide range of courses leading to over 120 diplomas, mostly in Liberal Art and Humanities such as Literature, Modern Languages, courses of French as a Second Language as well as Teaching French as a Second Language, Film and Drama Studies, Communication, and Media.
Internationally oriented, Paris 3 has developed bilateral agreements with partner universities in 49 countries. World renowned for the quality of its teaching and its research teams, Paris 3 has been helping universities in developing countries with the setting up and the implementation of new curricula as well as research projects.
