About the University
California State University Channel Islands (CSUCI, CSU Channel Islands, known informally as CI) is a four-year public comprehensive university located outside Camarillo, California in Ventura County. CI opened in 2002, as the 23rd campus in the California State University system, succeeding the Ventura County branch campus of CSU Northridge. CI is located midway between Santa Barbara and Los Angeles in Camarillo, at the intersection of the Oxnard Plain and northern most edge of the Santa Monica Mountain range. The Channel Islands are nearby where the university operates a scientific research station on Santa Rosa Island. CI faculty include one of the U.S.’s top economic forecasters, Sung Won Sohn; artist Jack Reilly; and biologist Sean Anderson. Channel Islands offers 53 types of Bachelor’s degrees

Health insurance is required of all full-time degree, resident, and international students with J1 visas.
International students are required to purchase and maintain health insurance through the JCB Insurance solutions. Students must purchase this specific insurance, regardless of what insurance students may already have. Exchange students will also receive information about health insurance requirements once accepted. Proof of health insurance must be submitted at least one month prior to program start date. Failure to purchase the JCB Insurance will result in the student’s admittance status being terminated.

Living on-campus: On-campus housing is available on first-come first-served basis for undergraduate students.Living on campus puts you in the center of the CSUCI experience. Each Village offers a distinct living style and amenities which are made available to all residents regardless of the Village in which they live. Our awesome villages include Santa Rosa Village, Santa Cruz Village, Anacapa Village, and Town Center. In addition to some of the newest and best facilities available, we offer a complete program with activities and trained staff to support student success and full engagement in the CSUCI educational experience. Additionally, all residents participate in the residential dining plan, which includes meals at Islands Cafe and the other eateries on campus.
Cost: $8,150-$12,470* per semester.
