About the University
Louisiana State University in Shreveport (LSU Shreveport or LSUS) is a branch institution of the Louisiana State University System located in Shreveport, Louisiana. LSUS opened in 1967 as a two-year community college but transitioned into a four-year college five years later in 1972.
LSUS has more than 20 undergraduate degree programs, a dozen master’s degree programs (including the new online MBA), and a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in Leadership Studies. The student-teacher ratio is one of the lowest in the state, lending to individualized instruction and personalized learning.
Named by the U.S. Department of Education as one of the most affordable colleges in Louisiana, LSU Shreveport offers high quality classroom instruction with very affordable tuition rates.
