Tarleton is located 65 miles (105 km) southwest of Fort Worth, Texas in Stephenville, the county seat of Erath County. With a population of 19,374, Stephenville provides a combination of small-town security and proximity to Dallas/Fort Worth. Most university activities take place on Tarleton’s centrally located, 173 acre (700,000 m²) main campus. A 600-acre (2.4 km²) university farm and the 1,200 acre (4.8 km²) Hunewell Ranch provide additional educational facilities. Recently, Tarleton also began offering programs at its new Granbury location, the Dora Lee Langdon Cultural and Educational Center.

Health insurance is required of all full-time degree, resident, and international students with F1 and J1 visas.

International students are covered by the Blue Cross and BlueShield of Texas Academic HealthPlans. International Programs does not determine the cost of this insurance. This plan is reviewed annually by the System Benefits Administration. The cost is established based on plan design, plan participation and claim experience. This plan is available for students at A&M System universities. Please consult the System Student Health Insurance Regulation for more information.

The average budget per month is: $400 – 500 

In order to be accepted, students must prove financial resources of $7,000.00 per semester.
